Stunning Swarovski Christmas Tree Revealed in China

Stunning Swarovski Christmas Tree Revealed in China

December 13, 2011  |  News

Swarovski have achieved some amazing displays with their dazzling crystals recently, but this appears to be one of the most impressive to date. This Swarovski Crystal Christmas Tree measures 18 metres in height, and is currently taking pride of place in the Xiamen SM Lifestyle Center in the south east of China.

Unveiled on the 7th December by famous Chinese actress Karen Mok at the Lifestyle Center, which takes up 5,400,000 square metres and receives daily visits of 3,000,000 people. Let’s hope they don’t all want to put a present under the tree!

The crystal tree was designed and made by designated Swarovski Christmas tree designers, and there are 6 trees and places where the Swarovski Crystal Christmas Trees can be seen this year. The bottom of the tree is actually an exhibit hall for Swarovski Elements and products, decorated with white refracting prisms to make people feel like they’re in a crystal palace.

The Swarovski Crystal Christmas Tree is worth a whopping one million yuan (around £100,900) and so doesn’t come cheap. The tree is expected to be lit until15th January 2012, but only between 19:30- 21:30 – presumably the lights take quite a bit of power. The tree will also launch a light show with Christmas songs to get shoppers in the Christmas spirit, and presumably to get everyone spending.

聖誕快樂; (Merry Christmas)
